5th Edition of the "Innocent Sorcerers" Festival

On 18-27 November 2010, already the 5th edition of the "Innocent Sorcerers" Festival took place in Warsaw.

It is a successive edition of the project organised by the Stefan Starzyński Institute (a division of the Warsaw Uprising Museum), which is meant to present the atmosphere of Warsaw of the late 1950s and early 1960s, as well as the events of the October 1956, or the so-called Polish thaw.

This year, the leitmotiv of the festival was the creative activity of the satirical group called Kabaret Starszych Panów, of Wojciech Młynarski, Marek Hłasko and Agnieszka Osiecka, i.e. the main motives they concentrated on ? jazz, modern cinema and night life of the capital city.

On Saturday night of 20 November the former KC PZPR seat received a crowd of guests who arrived to a crazy dancing party. The music was perfomed by Maciej Maleńczuk and the band Psychodancing. The gala was hosted by Maciej Ulewicz and two DJs: Papa Zura (Poland) and ®ilvinas Noruiąis (Lithuania). The Psychodancing project consist of fantastically played and sang covers, as well as original pieces created by Maciej Maleńczuk, which evoked the atmosphere of the parties from the 1950s and 1960s. Popular hits were played in new musical arrangements. People were dancing to unforgettable hits from the era of late Gomułka and early Gierek. Adam Gessler was serving his first-class żurek, a sour rye flour soup. The guests had great fun and were dancing until morning!
