    Remnants of the past

Although quite a few years passed, still many elements of the building give the impression of the standard of work the party notables provided themselves with.

Since the 1950s until today, nothing has changed in the design of a fifth floor conference room, which in the 1950s and 1960s was used as a room for plenary sessions of KC PZPR. Its original presidium table, dating back to Bolesław Bierut, is now used by the brokers of the Warsaw Trade Exchange. Also, the spacious canteen has not changed too much since 1952.

Both conference rooms on the first floor, located in the space previously used by the First Secretary office, until these days are equipped with original, carefully restored chairs and tables of impressive size and artistry. The wooden floor decorated with intarsia is covered with KC custom-made carpets from Kowary, a world-famous Polish carpet factory.

While leaving the KC PZPR building, the party dignitaries left some remnants telling their own story of the passing era. In the basement of the "White House" there are still bulky annual bound volumes of „Trybuna Ludu” ("People's Platform"), „O Trwały Pokój i Demokrację Ludową” ("For Permanent Peace and People's Democracy"), „Chłopska Droga” ("Peasant's Way") or „Robotnik” ("The Worker").
